Extraneous Education

Watching many movies, reading several books, and learning about the importance of education in school has been a very sensitive but nevertheless necessary topic. Understanding that to become a successful citizen in today's 21st century society you must at least have obtained a high school diploma. With that being said why do you believe that in order to get a job working at McDonald's the biggest (fast food restaurant) in the world they make sure you have your diploma? How hard could it be to flip buyers or take orders? Now it doesn't really mean much to just have a diploma 80-90% of professional careers require some form, preferably, a bachelors degree in a certain field. In my opinion an extra 4 years of school isn't going to change much, and if it's so essential to the workforce why not teach it in mandatory schooling, why wait to "teach" it in college?
